Monochromatic x New York Fashion Week

Yaaaay, it's the first day of New York Fashion Week and I am excited. I was really hoping to be there this season, but I chickened out when I thought about all of the snow and flight delays that could take place. When I picture Fashion Week, I think amazing outfits and showing them off. I hate the cold, so I would be showing them off in my hotel room, it just makes more sense to hold off for September.

I will be going to the L.A. Fashion week events again this year, so I am excited for that. Can't wait to link up with all of my friends. I have been in a fashion rut lately, so seeing the shows will help boost my inspiration. I am also looking forward to the amazing street style.

If you cannot make it to NYFW, you can watch all of the shows live at http://newyorkfashionweeklive.com/. I will update the blog with my favorite shows and some street style faves.

Moving on, not only is it NYFW, but it is also All Star weekend, also held in New York. I was going to create looks for all of the occasions this weekend, but are you really going to have time to get all of those pieces together?

So I say when all else fails, monochrome that shit! Yes, it is trendy and I feel like a lot of people are already doing it. But it is chic, easy, and affordable. You can literally pull it off with little effort and still kill most of the people who show up. Trust me.

All you have to do is pick a color and stick to it. From the shirt, pants, skirt, blazer, or shoes.

Monochromatic is also worn best by my favorite trend setter, Solange!

I am a bit tired of the whole one color look, especially on that Kardashian. But I am truly only tired of seeing her wear it. Monochromatic is a classic style that can stay just as long as black and white.

I am talking about from the 70's to the Lil Kim crush on you video days. Monochrome will always be in. Since it is so trendy in today's world, it seems to be the go to thing to do. I think because it is just so easy to pull off, especially if you don't consider yourself to be extremely fashionable.

It is best that the colors match to the best of your ability, except greys and cream, you can wear them with any other color greys or cream.

You can break up the colors if it is too much for you, with another color that matches.

So, if you are not sure to wear this weekend, rather it is Valentines day, All Star, NYFW, or just a regular day, pick a color you like and go hard. Trust me, you could probably thrift an entire look like the ones above.

I know it is hard to stay away from trends and what others seem to be doing, but I approve this when timing and money is a factor.

Hope you have time to watch the shows, they always recap in case you miss any throughout the day. I will be updating later. Until then here is a throw back Thursday in honor of monochrome.

LOL.
