Fur Heels D.I.Y.

I was finally able to put together a quick and easy D.I.Y. for you. Some may wonder why write about something so "easy", but not everyone sees this as an easy task. So I am here to show you how to turn some old heels into new ones. This project only cost around $10 and took 15 minutes.

You can literally create cool heels on the way out to an event in a matter of minutes. Also in my opinion they look a bit more expensive than some I have seen out and about lately.

Black History Month - Get to Know Titus Kaphar

Let's get into some more art this week and put the spot light on another great person for Black History Month. I was supposed to share a D.I.Y. today and deleted the files on my usb, so that will have to wait until tomorrow. Until then, this is quite better.

I found this amazing artist through my Tumblr last week and just had to share him with you all. His art work represents the past and present issues that African Americans dealt with. It left me speechless and with tears in my eyes.

He captures the missing pieces that is not visible on art work show cased in history museums.

Just take a look...

Black History Month x Black Theater x Black Panther

This is the last week of Black History Month and I want to go out with a bang by paying homage to a few legends and what I call my Black Panther Look. Between the tear jerker performance last night by Common and John Legend, I've been a bit on edge this morning.

Congrats are in order to Common and John Legend on their Oscar win last night. If you missed their performance last night, watch it below.

Wu-Tang Forever x Money Green

"What y'all thought y'all wasn't gonna see me, I'm the Osiris of this shit...Wu-Tang is here forever, m*therf*ckers...This ninety-seven!" - ODB

Throw back Thursday was yesterday, but who made the rules?

Two looks in one week, I was testing out my new camera the other day, so why not take advantage and put a quick look together. I also just found the skirt the other day, so wanted to wear it right away LOL.

Monochromatic Cream

Black coffee, no sugar, no cream...ayyy, remember that song? Some straight 90's R&B LOL. So remember I went over with you guys about monochrome, well here it is. I literally spent $17 on this entire look, well minus the accessories.

You don't have to spend money to look like it. I swear by this. I learned how to shop by my very frugal, yet splurging of a father that I have. Also whenever I was bored he would drop me off at whichever mall was around, while he worked on weekends. I swear I knew about price marking, clearance racks, color codes, season changes, quality, you name it. Shout out to my daddy...

Also Yeezy taught me about neutral color palettes.

NYFW Street Style - Updated Day 3 & 4

Morning everyone, yesterday was the first day of NYFW, so all of the bloggers, socialites, and celebrities are in New York. As promised I will be updating looks from my favorite street style contenders that I see throughout the week.
I will update this post as the week continues and put the update info in the title, so that you know there are new looks posted. The first day started off a bit slow for me, so today I am excited to see who comes out.

Day 3.

Are Bell Bottoms Back? Spring Trend 2015 Lookout

So I know we have been smothered in Fall/Winter trends this week, but I didn't realize how close we are to Spring. Well I am closer than most being in the 70 degree temps, but really we are only four weeks away from Spring. That is just around the corner.

Also as soon as NYFW wraps up, you know what that means, Sales!! Hell yeah, my favorite time of the year. It also means getting rid of Fall/Winter trends and bringing in the Spring/Summer trends.

Not many people are talking about Spring yet, so lets get a head start and give you some inspiration before hitting those racks.

So lately I have been spying a lot of bell bottoms...they seem to be back and I am here for it.

NYFW Designer Favorite - Son Jung Wan x Runway Video

It's Sunday and I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. It has been a lot to keep up with, between All Star Games and Fashion Shows, I missed a few things in-between. I did however catch an amazing show by a great designer Son Jung Wan.

The collection was very unique and really close to my personality. To the point where I was thinking this was my own collection lol. So many different mixed prints, textures, sequins, glitter, fur, colors...yeees hunny come through. I did enjoy the BCBG Collection as well, but I chose not to share it cause everyone else is and I feel this collection should be in the spot light.

Sequin bell bottoms and furs...take a look...

Monochromatic x New York Fashion Week

Yaaaay, it's the first day of New York Fashion Week and I am excited. I was really hoping to be there this season, but I chickened out when I thought about all of the snow and flight delays that could take place. When I picture Fashion Week, I think amazing outfits and showing them off. I hate the cold, so I would be showing them off in my hotel room, it just makes more sense to hold off for September.

I will be going to the L.A. Fashion week events again this year, so I am excited for that. Can't wait to link up with all of my friends. I have been in a fashion rut lately, so seeing the shows will help boost my inspiration. I am also looking forward to the amazing street style.

If you cannot make it to NYFW, you can watch all of the shows live at http://newyorkfashionweeklive.com/. I will update the blog with my favorite shows and some street style faves.

Moving on, not only is it NYFW, but it is also All Star weekend, also held in New York. I was going to create looks for all of the occasions this weekend, but are you really going to have time to get all of those pieces together?

So I say when all else fails, monochrome that shit! Yes, it is trendy and I feel like a lot of people are already doing it. But it is chic, easy, and affordable. You can literally pull it off with little effort and still kill most of the people who show up. Trust me.

All you have to do is pick a color and stick to it. From the shirt, pants, skirt, blazer, or shoes.

Monochromatic is also worn best by my favorite trend setter, Solange!

Valentines Day Layers

I am finally back in action today after a long weekend of illness, up until today, I wasn't even able to make it in to work. But while I was down, I was featured on one of my favorite blogs Fashion Bomb Daily. I submitted to Claire a while back and thought maybe it wasn't time. But now that I was featured I realize it was the perfect time. You can check out my feature here.

I am still excited about it and thankful for all my new followers, who I hope comes back LOL. To all my older followers...my bad y'all. So to make up for the many days of having a blank blog, I will start it off with a bang with a Valentines look. Also some dope ass street art.

Jean-Michel Basquiat - Celebrating Black History Month

Now that black history month is amongst us, I will be featuring a favorite legend of mine each week of this month. Starting with one of my favorite artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat. Basquait was an artist, musician, and producer based in New York. Most of his art pieces was created in the late 70's and most of the 80's.

He created street art, graffiti, and abstract pieces that focused on poverty, hip hop, and poetry within society and black communities. I really love how he grasped the realities with racism and classism within America.

He was also sexy as hell...

Basquiat Crown x Peter Pilotto

It's the second day of black history month, so lets start this thing off right! I am wearing the art of a handsome black artist and legend, Jean-Michel Basquiat. I don't want to get too deep because I plan on writing a seperate post dedicated to him this week.

If you are not familiar with Basquiat, he was a popular street artist based in New York. He painted what he felt and was a modern day Picasso. Most of his work was painted in the 80's. He also worked with Andy Warhol, which is another favorite artist of mine.

So let's move on to fashion. I bought this shirt over the holidays when I was in California. One of my secrets to score graphic tees is to go to the mens or boys department. They have tons of them and cheap!

I ended back at the original skate park I recently took pics earlier this month. There was just so much art up there, I had to have some cool street art in the back for this look.
