Life - Sisterhood

 What is sisterhood?

Sisterhood is loyalty, trust, caring, fighting...so many things. Or it could be what you make it. You can throw the phrase "BFF" in there, but that is a label for many female associates you meet throughout your lifetime.

We met in 9th grade or was it 10th? A boy who we both liked, tricked us into thinking we were both the girl for him. Ahhh high school love right? I am getting side tracked, but we both found out about each other and history was then made.

Escapades.Food.Life

Due to my blog still being fairly new, you will notice a few small changes that I make as I get used to updating the site. I originally wanted to capture all of the moments while I am traveling, however I am more of a live for the moment type versus capturing it. I created this new page title to show my life on the go, until I am able to find the middle ground of capturing moments while being in them.

Top row: Celine; Topshop; Saint Laurent
Middle row: Airport Deep Dish (which was amazing); cocktails and fish at Lux Bar
Bottom row: Wisconsin Farmland; Luxbar novelties; Chicago historic buildings
If you didn't already know, I was born in Chicago and I recently went to visit to witness my best friend receive her Masters Degree. While in my mind I wanted to capture so many things about one of my favorite cities, Chicago's weather made that a little difficult. It snowed upon arrival and then decided to rain right after. Even though I was born and spent over half of my life there, I was still pretty shocked.

We walked the streets for a few blocks before running into the fashion houses for heat. Of course that is what our excuse was :).

1. Hat; Heels; Jacket; Glasses; Purse 2. Jacket (Similar); Shorts; Heels 3. Hat; Shirt; Jeans; Boots; Purse

Again due to the tight schedule and many outfit changes due to weather, I was only able to capture the above looks with a selfie. Not my first choice of course, but I wanted to share my looks with you anyway. I was actually happy to be able to wear some of my winter items again.

The weekend before Chicago I headed to a fashion meetup near The W hotel. I also did a little shopping while capturing another beautiful art piece that I am obsessed with.

1. To travel the lightest way possible for a fashionista, I usually put all of my looks together before packing. 2. A wonderful art piece located downtown 3. The W interior designs 4. Wigged out mannequins

While at the fashion meetup I captured a few street style looks. Florals and simple chic were on the menu for the night. Amazing! You can see their full look at the my Street Style page.

Thank you for being patient with me in my changes and I am excited to share my upcoming escapades with you soon.

XOXO

Obsession of the week - Gladiator Heels

It has been a little while since I posted one of my Obsessions of the week. This week I stumbled upon a few stores that made replica versions of what used to be an expensive gladiator heel. I just had to share them with you fashionistas.

If you are unaware of the gladiator heel trend, it was once a big thing a few years ago and came back within the current fashion year. You can spot this trend on many celebrities such as Rihanna and Kourtney Kardashian.

Letters and Leather

I was in Wisconsin to attend a friend graduation. It was a bit challenging for me to find something to wear at the last minute before my flight due to many weather changes in the Midwest. However I found this dress in the back of my closet that I haven't worn since July. I felt it was very appropriate for the type of event. Unfortunately the dress is sold out and I was not able to find a replica.

I also need to invest in a traveling clothes steamer...sigh!

Jacket: Bar III; Purse: H&M; Shoes: Zara; Glasses: Charlotte Ronson for Vogue

Sophia Webster

I have been on the go all week and haven't had much time to update the blog, however while I have a few hours seated in flight, I thought I would provide you fashionistas with gag worthy heel porn. Sophia Webster is one of my favorite shoe designer. Her quirky designs are one of a kind and this years collection I must say is one of her best.

Let take a look at my favorite looks...

Date night looks under $100

With spring upon us, I was inspired to create a few sexy and fun date night looks. This time around I created looks under $100! Yes everything listed is under $100. I will say it was a bit difficult to do with the tools and online stores that worked with the tools I had, but I was able to manage. Everything that I put together, I would wear to a date night in a heart beat.

Lets start off with my favorite look.

Pumps & Paint - B.Y.O.B

This Friday I was able to finally attend the Phoenix First Friday art walk. I have lived in Phoenix for over six years and heard so many great things about the downtown art walk event, held each first Friday of the month.

I heard about a few painting classes held and I ended up finding the perfect class for me. Rejected Thrifts host classes where you bring in old shoes that you want to revamp. You can paint them, glitter them, anything that you desire to make them seem new again. You can drink loads of wine while doing it! This was the perfect class for me and an excuse to drink glasses of wine outside of my home.

I won't lie, I was expecting a large class setting with boring white walls that have arts and crafts hanging up like elementary school. It was the complete opposite!

WTFashion...Devil wears sneakers

So over the past few years I have seen running shoes in the fashion community replace the heel, oxford, wedge, or flat. This season running shoes were everywhere, from the runway to the streets. I don't know if I am bias on this new trend, because I normally don't wear flats, however this trend just comes off to me as a bit tacky and confusing.

I am assuming this trend generated from Manhattan, where many people are on the go and want to commute as comfortable as possible. Sometimes I even wished I didn't wear my pointy toe pumps the day I have a lot of unforeseen errands to tackle. But these running shoes are being paired with high fashion looks and pieces that just don't mesh.
