Fourth of July Cocktails

I am still trying to regroup from my pre-birthday celebration and prepare for the biggest holiday of the year...The Fourth of July. As I said before the fourth is my favorite holiday. I love the fireworks, food, love what is represents, and it is three days away from my birthday. With all of the preparation, I haven't had the time to review my latest outfit pics, but I will get back to schedule hopefully by tomorrow.

Until then, I came across a few Fourth of July cocktail ideas that you can create. I know this is a fashion blog, but these cocktails were so cute and fancy, I had to share.

Obsession of the week: Embellished Clutches

Summer is here and that means more outings, which made me dig out my collection of clutches. As you noticed I am not too big on purses or over accessorizing, but a clutch can be used as a good statement piece. It is an easy piece to add and complete an outfit.

I saw a few clutches that screamed summer. Bright colors, tribal prints, and even shapes of fruit. I love a good clutch and if you pick the right one based on hardware, it can last a long time.

Fourth of July Looks

The fourth of July is right around the corner, my favorite Holiday!! I am so excited, I wanted to create looks for the day. I put together looks for day and night, that you can wear to any event. I didn't want to take these looks too literal and very American, but also try to stick to a theme.

Alejandra G Heels - Look #2

I put together a second look for my now favorite Alejandra G Heels. I went with a simple all white look that was still fun. I spotted the skirt in H&M and feel in love with immediately. The skirt was made of the scuba material which gave it a very structured look. I finished the look off with rose gold accessories, a black and white polka dot clutch, and black sunglasses. The print on the heels makes make me want to create these fun looks.

Steal or Splurge - Fringe Mini Skirt

While shopping at Zara the other day I ran into a fringe mini skirt that looked like a replica of a Stella McCartney creation. Well, besides the lace detail, Zara did a pretty good job on recreating the skirt. I wore this skirt to the Phoenix Fashion Event on Friday.

Phoenix Fashion Week - Emerging Designers

I recently won a ticket to a Phoenix Fashion Week event from a new upcoming designer Jenesis of Women’s Touch Apparel. Phoenix Fashion Week is a networking group that meets up once a month to discuss recent fashion news, events, spotlight new designers, blogger meet and greet, and a chance for vendors to showcase their products. This event, held at the Toni and Guy Academy, was to announce the next 14 emerging designers competing for the Designer of the Year award.

Jenesis was showcasing and competing for the Designer of the Year award. I had the opportunity to meet Jenesis and see a few of her designs. What I love most about her clothing line is the message of women empowerment. Her head turning statement pieces give a powerful message for the women who like to take charge. Her designs are on t-shirts, bodysuits, dresses, and crop tops. You can view all of her designs at www.womanstouchapparel.com. I love it!

Lace Trend

Recently I have been spotting more and more lace detailed looks. The lace trend can be found all over the runways and on celebrities everywhere. This trend is also very difficult to recreate, it can go from classy to tacky in two seconds.

Here are a few of my favorite lace looks of the season.

Birthday Wish List

With my birthday around the corner my best friend and I were discussing gifts. I take my birthday to the next level and treat it like a real holiday. I am not that into some holidays because they don't carry much substance, so my boys birthday, my birthday, and The Fourth of July are my favorite days out of the year.

I am not one to usually ask for gifts unless it is family or really close friends, but my friend wanted me to create a list because I am really personal with gifts. Here are a few items that I have had my eye on...

Top Left: I recently just purchased my first vinyl record and wanted to start a collection and I haven't had a chance to purchase a record player just yet (here and here). The next few records I would love to own are Kanye West (MBDTF), Jay Z (MCHG), and Mary J Blige first album. My closest friends know how obsessed I am with Mary J Blige. The first album I ever owned was Whats the 411 and also when I fell in love with Hip Hop in the 90's. Very personal album and I can't wait to add it to my collection.

Top Right: I am very into signs and spiritual reasoning's, I am a Cancer and I take it seriously, don't judge me. Links here and here.

Mid Section:
1. Camera - With all of the traveling I have been doing I am in need of a decent small camera
2. Wine Opener - All women should own an automatic wine opener, no room for argument
3. Tea Pot - I am obsessed with tea and I would love to own a cast iron tea kettle to last forever
4. Chanel Brooch - I have had my eye on this Chanel brooch for quite some time, yet haven't made that purchase yet. I will break down to purchase it yet.

Bottom Row:
It wouldn't be a wish list without heels. I recently spotted these three heels that I cannot stop thinking about.

After looking at this list it does seem like a lot, haha, but it is a wish list.

Alejandra G Heels - Look #1

Finally my heels are here! I saw these heels months ago and of course they were sold out. Three months later they were available again, long story short I waited six months for these heels to arrive. It was like watching a birth, ok well watching a really important unwrapping of some sort. I even named them The Olsen Twins.

I love them!! I wanted to create a few different looks for this heel since the color scheme is so different and it is now my favorite heel.

Print on Print

While the summer is approaching I wanted to focus on bright colors and prints for the season. Print on print styles have been an upcoming trend in the past few years and seems to be sticking around. While I usually think of boho chic or hipster when I think of aztec prints, they are starting to look more high fashion. I am not a master of mixing prints just yet, but Solange Knowles gives me hope that one day I can be a princess of mixed prints.

Solange Knowles is known for her own unique style of bright colors, prints, and vintage. She owns the look and is the queen of all. Her eccentric style is very high fashion, without losing herself. Bow down to the queen of mixed prints.

Chic Eye Wear

If you didn't already notice, I have been wearing clear framed eyeglasses in the past couple of months. I have always needed glasses, mainly to be able to see at night or when in meetings, however I never wanted to take the time to get them.

Pink in the Park

This look is inspired by an all pink look that I saw on J. LO a few weeks back. I am obsessed with pink and if I could wear it everyday I would. Of course that is very predictable for a woman, but every time I see pink or any bright color, I instantly get excited.
